A few hundred yards from Montparnasse, the Porte de Vanves district is particularly well-known for its flea market. It also has green spaces and an authentic Parisian shopping street. A family-friendly area, Porte de Vanves is partly modern, flavored by the old and picturesque Rue Raymond-Losserand where shopping activity is focused. A 1.5 acre public park opened in 2012, just by Porte de Vanves, on a covered section of the Boulevard Périphérique.
