Place de l’Étoile is undoubtedly the most famous square in Paris. Designed by Napoleon, the Étoile (star) is now a central point of the capital. Twelve of Paris's main roads intersect here. Every day, tourists from all around the world are visiting the area. The square marks the point where the stylish residential districts of the 16th arrondissement, the business districts of Wagram and La Défense, and one of the most famous avenues in the world, the Champs-Élysées, meet. Place de l'Étoile is the destination of the annual July 14th military parade that goes down the Champs-Élysées.
