Today, Bercy mainly consists of modern constructions. The neighborhood is still lively and vibrant. Families, young people, and even businesspeople working in the east of Bercy spend their time there. Completed in 2001, Bercy Village boasts around thirty boutiques, restaurants, terraces, and a multiplex movie theater. Alongside the Paris-Bercy Palais Omnisports sports center, Parc de Bercy extends over more than 35 acres. It is connected directly to the Bibliothèque Nationale de France by the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge, which spans the Seine.
