Porte de la Chapelle/Stade de France, an area with easy access from the A1 highway

The Porte de la Chapelle is a district that is undergoing many changes, ten minutes by metro from the Gare Saint-Lazare train station and fifteen minutes from Concorde. Porte de la Chapelle is also located where the A1 highway (the highway from Brussels and Lille) meets the capital. The location allows easy access to the Stade de France on the one hand and central Paris on the other. The district is popular with tourists visiting the capital and people coming to attend sporting or cultural events at the Stade de France.

A district centered around the Stade de France

With more than 80,000 seats, the Stade de France, opened in 1998 is the largest stadium in France and is designed to host sporting events (football, rugby, racing) and concerts, operas, and other big productions. The Stade de France also has a museum area dedicated to the sporting and cultural events that have been held there. The more scenic Square Charles Hermite (Rue Charles Hermite) is a great place for relaxing amidst plane trees and apple blossom trees, and has children's playgrounds and public lawns.

Eating out near the Stade de France

A lively market within walking distance and with great prices, is held on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings on Avenue de la Porte d'Aubervilliers. If you want something more elegant, the panoramic Lenôtre restaurant is inside the Stade de France itself. The district is served by Porte de la Chapelle metro station (line 12).
