The Bourse district is famous for being at the height of fashion
In the past, young women used to flock here to buy jewelry and lace. Today, top designers like Kenzo, Thierry Mugler, Cacharel, and Agatha have invaded the surrounding area. Place des Victoires is surrounded by buildings and mansions representative of the Parisian elegance of the 19th century. As night falls and the building façades light up, the plaza takes on the romantic feel of the 1920s Paris.
Two historic monuments in the heart of Paris
Opened in 1686, the Place des Victoires was the first square built in honor of the Sun King. In 1822, in the center of the square, a statue of Louis XIV on horseback was built. A short distance away, the Palais de la Bourse (or Palais Brongniart) is a symbol of Napoleon's imperial power. The many columns that surround the palace give it a majestic appearance. For a long time, it served as the official site for the French stock exchange.
Bourse/Place des Victoires: the Parisian elegance
Close to the Grands Boulevards of Paris, the Bourse district is popular for its quiet, typically Parisian ambiance. It is an area mainly frequented by businessmen and Parisian 'bobos'. It hosts conferences, seminars, and other types of receptions. Near Place des Victoires, the covered Vivienne arcade is a lovely place to walk in the heart of the district. Fashion shows are also sometimes held there. It is the perfect location for long stays in the capital! Take a look at our selection of furnished rental apartments in Paris.
