Furnished apartment - 38m² - 1 bedroom - Porte Maillot / Palais des Congrès - Paris

There are advantages and disadvantages of renting this apartment. Advantages are: a grocery store and bakery are across the street; I felt secure in the building and in a safe neighborhood; wifi and elevator worked great; bus and metro are close by; owner and concierge are nice. Disadvantages: There was no hot water at the beginning of my stay. Also there was little to no heat in the apartment. It was not my first time to Paris in the month of March. I've been coming to Paris for 40 years. I know that Paris is cold in March, but I expected the possibility of heat or at least the possibility of increasing the heat. There are small, electric radiators that are insufficient to heat this apartment with its tall ceilings. I asked the owner for a space heater for the bathroom because I couldn't take a bath--it was so cold. She didn't reply at first. By the time she replied, a friend had already brought a space heater to me. However, we needed an extension cord to plug it in because there was no outlet in the bathroom. There was a hand-held shower in the bathroom, but no attachment on the wall to hang it up. Therefore, there is no possibility of taking a shower; only a bath. I had to hold my head under the hand-held shower to wash my hair. Not easy to do. The first Sat. night at this apartment I discovered that I was next to a nightclub that plays loud, vibrating music from 10 pm until 1am. Needless to say, I couldn't sleep on Sat. nights until after 1am. The mattress is as hard as a rock, but that I could deal with. I lived in my wool dress and jacket because it was so cold in this apartment. Perhaps I would enjoy this apartment more in the summer than in the winter? Unfortunately, there is nothing to do about the nightclub noise on Sat. nights. I was in Paris on business. I was asked to give a presentation on March 10th so I had no choice about my dates. I do not like Paris in the month of March. I knew that this neighborhood in the 17th is safe. That's why I chose it. I said that I wouldn't recommend this apartment to acquaintances. However, I would explain the advantages and disadvantages of staying in this apartment. So they could make up their own minds. I guess I would look at the Paris Attitude web site for an apartment in the future. I'm really not sure at this point.
