Rue de Levis, 75017 Paris
This 125 m², 4-room apartment is located rue de Levis in the 17th arrondissement, on the 2nd floor of a 19th century building and can accommodate 5 people. This apartment is equipped with: washing machine, dishwasher, unlimited high-speed wifi internet access. The 19th-century building is equipped with: elevator, entry code, intercom, concierge. The magnificent industrial buildings of a former coffee-roasting factory (Cafés Patin) are tucked away at the back of the plot at 8 rue Lévis in the 17th arrondissement. This late 19th-century complex is hidden from passers-by by a post-Haussmann building on the street. The famous coffee-roasting factory, where Marcel Proust's faithful and devoted servant Celeste Albaret used to go to get coffee for "Monsieur Proust", was the last coffee-roasting factory in Paris. Both the old factory and the townhouse are listed on the supplementary inventory of historic monuments (ISMH). The 3 main buildings (the factory, the owner's mansion and the sales staff's quarters) were erected around 1888 and have survived intact. The factory was built on a metal frame, with stone facing and brick infill. Only two of the buildings and the courtyard were listed as Historic Monuments in 2021 (see article in "Patrimoine industriel" magazine, No. 78, June 2021). The current co-owners of the listed buildings have updated the factory and mansion while preserving the architectural character of the whole.
